SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Louis Gregory "Lou" Sabo of Godfrey, who
4passed away on May 25, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Lou Sabo was born in East St. Louis on November
627, 1928 to Louis J. and Elizabeth (nee Oros) Sabo; he
7graduated from Marquette Catholic High School and Quincy
8University; he served in the United States Navy and married
9Joyce Bowman on August 1, 1953 at St. Patrick's Church in
10Alton; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Lou Sabo was a lifetime member and Past Commander
12of the American Legion Post #126 in Alton and a member of the
13Knights of Columbus in Alton; he was involved in youth
14athletics, having served as a coach, scorekeeper, and in many
15other roles; he also enjoyed being a member of the Antique Car
16Club of Alton; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Lou Sabo was preceded in death by his parents, and
18his sister, Irene Springman; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Lou Sabo is survived by his wife, Joyce; his 4
20children and their spouses, Lynn Sabo, Gregory and Theresa
21Sabo, Mark and Anne Sabo, and Jay and June Sabo; his 4

1grandchildren and their spouses, Meggan and Michael Schoen,
2Matthew Sabo, Gwen Sabo, and Ethan Sabo; his
3step-grandchildren, Haili Culp and Alicia and Jason Simmons;
4his great-grandchild, Sean Prather; and many nieces, nephews,
5other relatives, and friends; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8Louis Gregory "Lou" Sabo, and extend our sincere condolences to
9his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
10further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Lou Sabo as an expression of our
13deepest sympathy.
