SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of James W. "Jim" Bruce, Sr., who passed
4away on May 12, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Jim Bruce, Sr. was born on June 2, 1937 to James
6and Malvina (nee Hartford) Bruce; he earned his associates
7degree in finance; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Jim Bruce, Sr. worked at Ceco Steel Mill for over
927 years, where he acted as President of the Steel Workers
10Union; he then worked for the dean's office at Hinsdale Central
11High School, where he later retired; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Jim Bruce, Sr. was an avid Chicago Bears fan; he
13enjoyed going to the casino, playing the slot machines, and
14playing scratch off lotto tickets with his grandchildren; most
15of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Jim Bruce, Sr. was preceded in death by his
17daughter, Marylynn Mavec, and his parents; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Jim Bruce, Sr. is survived by his wife of 56
19years, Sharon R. Bruce (nee Leiser); his son, James W. "Bucky"
20(Kerri) Bruce; his son-in-law, Joseph (the late Marylynn)

1Mavec; his grandchildren, Elizabeth Bruce, Samantha Mavec,
2Martin Mavec, and William (fiance Kelley Kostelz) Bruce; his
3sister, Lynn Drolet; his sister-in-law, Janet "Dolly" C. and
4the whole Militello family; as well as numerous nieces and
5nephews; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8James W. "Jim" Bruce, Sr., and extend our sincere condolences
9to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be
10it further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Jim Bruce, Sr. as an expression of
13our deepest sympathy.
