| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Jess O. Woodman, Jr. of Godfrey, who |
| 4 | | passed away on June 6, 2015; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Jess Woodman, Jr. was born in Cleveland, Ohio on |
| 6 | | October 24, 1932 to Jess O., Sr. and Irene Marie (nee Deorio) |
| 7 | | Woodman; he served in the United States Navy during the Korean |
| 8 | | War; he was married to the former Peggy Means for 26 years |
| 9 | | until her passing; he married Amy Ensley on June 9, 1978; and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Following in his father's footsteps, Jess |
| 11 | | Woodman, Jr. became a collision repair specialist, working at |
| 12 | | area dealerships and then opening Custom Auto Body and later, |
| 13 | | Woodman Auto Body in Alton; after retiring from the collision |
| 14 | | business, he worked as a claims adjuster with Sentry Insurance |
| 15 | | Company; after retirement, he managed the Bethalto Wash-N-Go |
| 16 | | for 11 years; and
|
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Jess Woodman, Jr. was a member of Calvary Baptist |
| 18 | | Church in Alton; as a young man, he was a boxer; he drag raced |
| 19 | | throughout the Midwest and enjoyed street rodding and |
| 20 | | membership in the FBI (Fat Boys of IL); and
|
| 21 | | WHEREAS, Jess Woodman, Jr. was preceded in death by his |
