SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Mildred Louise "Millie" Olsen, formerly
4of Waukegan, who passed away on June 10, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Mildred Olsen was born in Waukegan on November 19,
61924 to Sanford and Erma Harrison; she married Thomas Michael
7Olsen in 1945; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Mildred Olsen and her husband owned and operated
9the Feast House Restaurant on Grand Avenue in Waukegan for 2
10decades; she then pursued a career in interior design and
11opened Dawnmarie's Touch of Elegance, which she ran for over 25
12years; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Mildred Olsen was an accomplished ballerina and
14tap dancer and was a member of a professional dance troupe; her
15love of dance lasted throughout her lifetime; she was an avid
16golfer and was a member of the Glen Flora Country Club for over
1750 years; and
 
18    WHEREAS, After retiring, Mildred Olsen moved to Sarasota,
19Florida; she was a member of the Meadows Country Club and the
20Red Hat Ladies; and

1    WHEREAS, Mildred Olsen was preceded in death by her husband
2of 46 years, Tom and 3 sisters, Edna, Frances, and Marion; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Mildred Olsen and her husband had 3 children,
4Thomas Olsen II (Sandra), Dianne (Evan Voights), and Dawn Marie
5(Peter Krupa); 6 grandchildren, Thomas Olsen III (Jackie), Kate
6(Loren) Kreiss, Melissa Anne Voights, Kimberlee (Brad) Miller,
7Kelly Marie Krupa, and Kristine (Alex) Solo; and 6
8great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11Mildred Louise "Millie" Olsen, and extend our sincere
12condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved
13her; and be it further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Mildred Olsen as an expression of
16our deepest sympathy.
