SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of John Martin Prpich of Wildwood, who passed away on January 5, 2015; and

WHEREAS, John Prpich was born in DeKalb on November 11, 1936 to Mary and Frank Prpich; he attended Northern Illinois University; and

WHEREAS, John Prpich had a 42-year insurance sales career with American Family Insurance; and

WHEREAS, John Prpich and his wife, Ruth, were proud lifetime members of American Croatian Waukegan Tamburitzans; he served as Vice-President and Building Director for many years; he enjoyed being in the adult orchestra, playing the upright bass; his other pride was starting the fish fry that helped raise funds for younger members to travel and perform in the United States, Canada, and Croatia; and

WHEREAS, John Prpich was preceded in death by his parents, and his 2 brothers, George and Mike Prpich; and

WHEREAS, John Prpich is survived by his wife of 49 years, Ruth; his children, Catherine (Dr. Jordan Goodman), Edward (Laurie), and James (Christina) Prpich; his grandchildren, Zak and Karissa; and many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of John Martin Prpich, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of John Prpich as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
