SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Catherine Mary Porzel of Spring Grove, 
4who passed away on June 8, 2015; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Catherine Porzel was born in Chicago on January 7, 
61933 to James and Alice (nee Donahue) McConville; she married 
7Raymond G. Porzel on May 25, 1957; and
  
 
  
8    WHEREAS, Catherine Porzel was an active member of St. 
9Peter's church and  participated in the Rite of Christian 
10Initiation of Adults for over 20 years; she was artistic and 
11enjoyed painting; her  hobbies included reading, spending time 
12in the kitchen preparing meals for her family, and traveling; 
13some of her favorite trips included Hawaii, Rome, and Ireland; 
14and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, Catherine Porzel was preceded in death by her 
16parents; her husband, Raymond; her son, Raymond J.; and her 
17daughter, Cathleen Coughlin; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, Catherine Porzel is survived by her children, Mary 
19Beth Knox, Rita (Dave) Harvey, and Maureen (Mike) Terry; her 
20grandchildren, Michael, Liz (Brian), Tommy, Pat, Cassie, 
21Jimmy, Catie, and Aveleen; her great-grandchildren, Aedian,

1Izzy, Brady, Savana, Adrianna, and Dallas; her sister, Mary 
2Rabelhofer; and many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
  
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL 
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
5Catherine Mary Porzel, and extend our sincere condolences to 
6her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it 
7further
  
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9presented to          the family of Catherine Porzel as an expression of 
10our deepest sympathy.
