SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Dennis M. Burrs of Woodstock, who passed 
4away on June 5, 2015; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Dennis Burrs was born in Chicago on March 2, 1945 
6to Lawrence and Bernice (nee Shaw) Burrs; he grew up in Dixon 
7and joined the United States Navy, serving on the U.S.S. 
8Oriskany; he married Diane Rintoul on June 29, 1968 in Dixon; 
9and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Dennis Burrs worked for Lake Shore Distributors; 
11and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Dennis Burrs enjoyed attending conventions with 
13other veterans; he was a member of the Woodstock Veterans of 
14Foreign Wars for over 15 years; he enjoyed trains, playing 
15cards, and visiting with friends; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Dennis Burrs was preceded in death by his parents; 
17and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, Dennis Burrs is survived by his wife, Diane, and  
19his  sister, Laurel Burrs Erickson; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL 
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
3Dennis M. Burrs, and extend our sincere condolences to his 
4family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
5further
  
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7presented to the family of Dennis Burrs as an expression of our 
8deepest sympathy.
