SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Marilyn L. Johnson, who passed away on
4June 3, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Marilyn Johnson was born and raised in Joliet; she
6attended St. Mary Carmelite School and was a 1941 graduate of
7Providence High School; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Marilyn Johnson retired from the Sears Roebuck
9Company after over 20 years of service; after retirement, she
10performed clerical work at the Senior Services Center of Will
11County; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Marilyn Johnson was a life-long member and lector
13at St. Mary Carmelite Church and later a parishioner at St.
14Paul the Apostle Catholic Church; she was a member of the
15Women's Auxiliary of Veterans of Foreign Wars Cantigny Post
16#367 and American Legion Post #1080; she was also proud of her
17Irish heritage and was the Providence St. Patrick's Day Queen
18in 1941; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Marilyn Johnson was preceded in death by her
20husband, Edward W. Johnson; her parents, William and Sarah
21"Marie" (nee Ward) Kinsley; a brother, William J. Kinsley; her

1stepfather, Anton Culik; a stepbrother, James (Carol) Culik;
2and a stepsister, Mary Ann Sievert; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Marilyn Johnson is survived by 3 children, David
4E. (Beryl) Johnson, Christine M. (Kenneth) Peterson, and
5Michael W. (Christine) Johnson; 4 grandchildren, Emmett C.
6Johnson, Emilie J. (Cory) Robinson, Brendan C. Peterson, and
7Meghann Dodd; 2 great-grandchildren, Ella and Brady Robinson; a
8stepbrother, Anthony "Pro" (Betty) Culik; and a stepsister,
9Madeliene Chovan; therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her
12family and friends, mourn the passing of Marilyn L. Johnson;
13and be it further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Marilyn Johnson as an expression of
16our sympathy.
