| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Robert F. "Bob" Issel, who passed away on |
| 4 | | June 3, 2015; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Bob Issel was born in Chicago to Louis and Hilda |
| 6 | | Issel on November 11, 1937; and
|
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Bob Issel was a member of the Knollwood Fire |
| 8 | | Department for 37 years, where he rose through the ranks, |
| 9 | | retiring as fire chief in 1997, when he passed the department |
| 10 | | leadership to his son, Michael; he was a leader and innovator, |
| 11 | | overseeing the construction of a new fire station, bringing the |
| 12 | | Knollwood Fire Department to the forefront of modern |
| 13 | | firefighting; he continued his love for the fire service by |
| 14 | | serving the residents of Knollwood as District Trustee for an |
| 15 | | additional 10 years; and
|
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Bob Issel was also an active member of the Lake |
| 17 | | County Fire Chiefs and Illinois Volunteer Firemen's |
| 18 | | Associations; he was a pioneer in the Lake County Firemen's |
| 19 | | Convention, participating in and coaching his men to numerous |
| 20 | | county championships; he owned and operated Northern Electric |
| 21 | | Service, Inc., a family-owned and operated business, which he |
| 22 | | passed on to his eldest son, Michael, in 2001; and
