SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Robert F. "Bob" Issel, who passed away on
4June 3, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Bob Issel was born in Chicago to Louis and Hilda
6Issel on November 11, 1937; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Bob Issel was a member of the Knollwood Fire
8Department for 37 years, where he rose through the ranks,
9retiring as fire chief in 1997, when he passed the department
10leadership to his son, Michael; he was a leader and innovator,
11overseeing the construction of a new fire station, bringing the
12Knollwood Fire Department to the forefront of modern
13firefighting; he continued his love for the fire service by
14serving the residents of Knollwood as District Trustee for an
15additional 10 years; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Bob Issel was also an active member of the Lake
17County Fire Chiefs and Illinois Volunteer Firemen's
18Associations; he was a pioneer in the Lake County Firemen's
19Convention, participating in and coaching his men to numerous
20county championships; he owned and operated Northern Electric
21Service, Inc., a family-owned and operated business, which he
22passed on to his eldest son, Michael, in 2001; and

1    WHEREAS, Bob Issel was the beloved husband of Patricia; the
2proud and loving father of Michael (Elizabeth), Mary
3Issel-Harper, and Kevin (Alison); the amazing and caring
4grandfather to Patrick, Shannon (Christopher) Johnson, Michael
5(Carrie) Harper, Delanie, and Payton; the proud
6great-grandfather to Mia Johnson and Emma and Lincoln Harper;
7the adored son-in-law of Cecilia Murphy; the cherished brother
8by marriage to Kathy Faust and Mary Jane Murphy; brother to Ken
9(Sue) and Bill (Helen) Issel; and loving uncle to many;
10therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
13Robert F. "Bob" Issel, and extend our sincere condolences to
14his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
15further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to the family of Bob Issel as an expression of our
18deepest sympathy.
