SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Virginia Weaver of Peoria, who passed
4away on June 3, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Virginia Weaver was born in Eureka to Ora and Ella
6Garber; she graduated from Peoria High School and married
7Robert Weaver on June 3, 1945; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Virginia Weaver worked at the Buehler Home
9retirement community in the accounting department; she was a
10founding partner of Weaver Enterprises; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Virginia Weaver loved flowers, particularly
12planning, developing, and working in her perennial gardens; she
13and her husband were well known in the horse coaching and
14carriage world; she also enjoyed spending time with her family;
15and
 
16    WHEREAS, Virginia Weaver served as a Sunday school teacher
17and church treasurer for many years; in her later years, she
18attended the First United Methodist Church; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Virginia Weaver and her husband were jointly
20honored as the Association of Fundraising Professionals

1Philanthropists of the Year; they were also Easter Seals
2Tribute Dinner honorees; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Virginia Weaver was preceded in death by her
4husband of 69 years, Robert; her parents; and her sister,
5Shirley Roth; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Virginia Weaver is survived by her children, Jerry
7(Nancy) Weaver, Phyllis (Don) Crouch, Steve (Shelley) Weaver,
8Karen (Bob Vespa) Weaver, and Charles (Laurie) Weaver; her 16
9grandchildren; and her 19 great-grandchildren; therefore, be
10it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her
13family and friends, mourn the passing of Virginia Weaver; and
14be it further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Virginia Weaver as an expression of
17our sympathy.
