2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
3 | | learn of the death of Tom D. Morss of Peoria, who passed away |
4 | | on July 8, 2015; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Tom Morss was born in Galesburg on March 17, 1947 |
6 | | to Leaon and Elaine (nee Donaldson) Morss; he married Jessie |
7 | | Russo on May 27, 1967 in Abingdon; he served in the United |
8 | | States Army from 1966 to 1969, including a 10-month tour in |
9 | | Thailand, where he worked in satellite communications; and
|
10 | | WHEREAS, Tom Morss owned a transportation company, Traffic |
11 | | Tom, Inc., where he created an environment that was about |
12 | | serving the customer and providing quality jobs; and
|
13 | | WHEREAS, Tom Morss was a longtime parishioner of Holy |
14 | | Family and also loved serving the Cursillo community; he and |
15 | | his wife, Jessie, made Cursillo in 1984; in September of 2013, |
16 | | he served as the rector of Cursillo 1045, choosing the theme of |
17 | | "We Will Rise Again"; he was a talented musician, serving as a |
18 | | drum major in high school, playing trombone professionally as a |
19 | | young man, and singing with various church choirs, including |
20 | | the contemporary choir for more than a decade at Holy Family; |
