2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
3 | | learn of the death of Charles Ray Mathey, Jr. of Woodstock, who |
4 | | passed away on June 24, 2015; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Charles Mathey, Jr. was born on July 23, 1929 to |
6 | | Charles, Sr. and Helen Mathey; he graduated from Medford High |
7 | | School in 1947 and married Norine M. Doolittle on June 6, 1953; |
8 | | during the Korean War, he served as a wheel mechanic at the |
9 | | Army's 121 EVAC Hospital in Seoul, Korea; and
|
10 | | WHEREAS, Charles Mathey, Jr. worked for Union Special in |
11 | | Huntley for 42 years as a tool room machinist; and
|
12 | | WHEREAS, Charles Mathey, Jr. was a life-time member of the |
13 | | Woodstock Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5040, serving in many |
14 | | capacities; he served on the honor guard for many events and |
15 | | was honored to be a parade marshal; and
|
16 | | WHEREAS, Charles Mathey, Jr. was preceded in death by his |
17 | | wife, Norine; his parents; his 3 sisters, Delores Linzner, |
18 | | Bertha Garland, and Alice Levenhagen; his 2 brothers, Alex |
19 | | Mathey and Eugene Mathey; his brothers-in-law, Glenn Anderson, |
20 | | Charles Thomas, and Nicholas Levenhagen; and
