SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of George D. Imhoff of Algonquin, who passed
4away on July 3, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, George Imhoff was born in Troy Township, Iowa on
6December 21, 1926 to Henry and Ella (nee Austin) Imhoff; after
7attending high school, he enlisted in the United States Navy,
8serving on the USS Mustin during World War II; he married Betty
9Jane Tilche on March 6, 1948 in Ontarioville; and
 
10    WHEREAS, George Imhoff was self-employed as a carpenter and
11co-owner of the S & I Construction Company until 1963, when he
12founded Imhoff Construction, which he operated for nearly 50
13years; he was a member of the Local #2087 Carpenter's Union;
14and
 
15    WHEREAS, George Imhoff was a lifetime member of the
16American Legion, past President of the Algonquin Lions Club,
17Trustee of the Congregational Church of Algonquin, which he and
18his wife had been a member of for over 60 years, and a founding
19member of Algonquin Founder's Days; and
 
20    WHEREAS, George Imhoff was preceded in death by his
21parents; his son, Bradley; his granddaughter, Kari (Bob) Crewe;

1his great-grandson, Zane Spitznas; his brothers, Russell
2(Arliss) Imhoff and Julian (Pat) Imhoff; and his sisters, Flora
3(Kenneth) Coon and Vernie (Neil) McManaman; and
 
4    WHEREAS, George Imhoff was the beloved husband of Betty
5Jane Imhoff (nee Tilche); the beloved father of Don (Carol),
6Cindi, and Randy (Toni) Imhoff; the fond grandfather of Greg
7(Katie) Imhoff, Zach (Susie) Imhoff, Amy (Joe) Fujino, Michael
8Imhoff, Lindsey (Mark) Hartwig, and Lauren Spitznas; the
9great-grandfather of Makena, Alyvia, Dean, Luke, Jake,
10Nattily, Laeden, Zoe, and Klare; the dear brother of Ben
11(Kathleen) Imhoff and Genieve (Bob) Engelbrecht; and the fond
12uncle of many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
13    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
14ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
15George D. Imhoff, and extend our sincere condolences to his
16family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
17further
 
18    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
19presented to the family of George Imhoff as an expression of
20our deepest sympathy.
