SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Joahn "Jonnie" Vickery of Spring Grove,
4who passed away on June 29, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Joahn Vickery was born in Washington, D.C. on
6February 5, 1944 to Ralph and Ardyth (nee Preice) Lohrke; she
7married David A. Vickery on August 14, 1965 at Santa Maria del
8Popolo Catholic Church in Mundelein; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Joahn Vickery was an active member of St. John the
10Baptist Catholic Church in Johnsburg, where she had been the
11church secretary, head of the Bereavement Ministry, a volunteer
12for the Homebound Ministry, and a Eucharistic Minister; she was
13a Woman of Inspiration for St. John the Baptist Catholic
14Church, through the McHenry County Deanery; she enjoyed
15holidays with her family and making large meals; her all-time
16favorite movie was the Wizard of Oz and she enjoyed Irish
17music; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Joahn Vickery was preceded in death by her
19husband, David; her parents; her grandson, Triston; her father
20and mother-in-law, Ralph and Viola Vickery; and her
21brother-in-law, Gerald Meyer; and

1    WHEREAS, Joahn Vickery is survived by her children, Jon
2Vickery, Jennifer (Peter) Walker, and Jason Vickery; her
3grandsons, Damian, Stephen, Devin, and Nicholas; her brothers,
4David, Ralph, and Scott Lohrke; her sisters-in-law, Arlene
5(Donald) Haun and Darlene Meyer; and many nieces and nephews;
6therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9Joahn "Jonnie" Vickery, and extend our sincere condolences to
10her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
11further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Joahn Vickery as an expression of
14our deepest sympathy.
