|
| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Nancy Rude of Decatur, who passed away on |
| 4 | | July 23, 2015; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Nancy Rude served the mental health and community |
| 6 | | service sector for 25 years; she began working at Heritage |
| 7 | | Behavioral Health 25 years ago as a case manager; she worked |
| 8 | | her way up and became the Director of the Oasis Day Center in |
| 9 | | 1999; and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, As leader of the Oasis Day Center, Nancy Rude |
| 11 | | oversaw Decatur's largest homeless shelter, assisting as many |
| 12 | | as 80 unique visitors on a daily basis with such things as a |
| 13 | | hot meal, a shower, and a place to stay cool or escape the |
| 14 | | heat; and
|
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Nancy Rude always went above and beyond to help an |
| 16 | | individual with whatever problem they were facing; and
|
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Nancy Rude will always be remembered for being |
| 18 | | kind and compassionate and for her desire to help others; |
| 19 | | therefore, be it
|
| 20 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL |
