SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Nancy Rude of Decatur, who passed away on
4July 23, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Nancy Rude served the mental health and community
6service sector for 25 years; she began working at Heritage
7Behavioral Health 25 years ago as a case manager; she worked
8her way up and became the Director of the Oasis Day Center in
91999; and
 
10    WHEREAS, As leader of the Oasis Day Center, Nancy Rude
11oversaw Decatur's largest homeless shelter, assisting as many
12as 80 unique visitors on a daily basis with such things as a
13hot meal, a shower, and a place to stay cool or escape the
14heat; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Nancy Rude always went above and beyond to help an
16individual with whatever problem they were facing; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Nancy Rude will always be remembered for being
18kind and compassionate and for her desire to help others;
19therefore, be it
 
20    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL

1ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
2Nancy Rude, and extend our sincere condolences to her family,
3friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further
 
4    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
5presented to Nancy Rude as an expression of our esteem and
6respect.
