SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Rachel Matilda Amelianovich of Harvard,
4who passed away on July 13, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Rachel Amelianovich was born in Washington
6Island, Wisconsin on July 24, 1922 to George and Olga (nee
7Pederson) Jorgenson; she married Anthony Amelianovich in
8Chicago on March 23, 1946; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Rachel Amelianovich worked for the Admiral
10Engineering and Manufacturing Company and Arnold Engineering
11of Marengo; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Rachel Amelianovich was a member of the First
13Presbyterian Church and Women of the Moose in Harvard; she
14belonged to the Harvard Food Pantry and Senior Center and
15volunteered at the school for reading pairs; she enjoyed
16reading, crocheting, embroidery, quilting, and bingo and was a
17Chicago Cubs and Green Bay Packers fan; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Rachel Amelianovich was preceded in death by her
19parents, and her siblings, Gordon Jorgensen, Oliver Jorgensen,
20Emily Jensen, George Jorgensen, Marge Reagan, Chuck Jorgenson,
21and Leonard Jorgenson; and

1    WHEREAS, Rachel Amelianovich is survived by her children,
2Pam (John) Charleston, Tony (Cindy) Amelianovich, and Greg
3(Laurel) Amelianovich; her 9 grandchildren; her 5
4great-grandchildren; and her sister, Gertrude Young;
5therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8Rachel Matilda Amelianovich, and extend our sincere
9condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved
10her; and be it further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Rachel Amelianovich as an expression
13of our deepest sympathy.
