SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Nancy J. Anderson of Richmond, who passed
4away on July 13, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Nancy Anderson was born on April 10, 1934 in
6Detroit, Michigan; her parents were Albert and Mary (nee
7Tobias) Tomasek; she married Ray J. Anderson on June 11, 1955
8in Detroit; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Nancy Anderson was a graduate of Redford High
10School in Detroit, graduating in 1952, and worked at the
11National Bank of Detroit during and after high school; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Nancy Anderson and her husband lived in Norfolk,
13Virginia while he served on the USS Mississippi and Nancy
14worked for the National Bank & Trust Company; they subsequently
15moved to the Glenview Naval Air Station, then to the Naval Base
16in Long Beach, California while Ray served on the USS Saint
17Paul in the Pacific Ocean; they later went to the United States
18Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland before moving to Ann
19Arbor, Michigan; they then moved to Richmond, where she worked
20for the family-owned Belden Oil Company and the United States
21Postal Service for 22 years; and

1    WHEREAS, Nancy Anderson was a member of the First Church of
2Christ, Scientist in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin; she served as
3president of the Richmond Garden Club; she served as a Girl
4Scout leader; she was also a member of the Philanthropic
5Educational Organization, a Rotary Ann of the Richmond Rotary
6Club, and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Nancy Anderson is survived by a daughter, Kristin
8Anderson; a son, Mark (Grace) Anderson; a granddaughter, Emma
9Esmond; a sister, Sally (Jack) Broderick; a niece, Andrea
10Broderick; and her extra special friend for 69 years, Joyce
11Wilson; therefore, be it
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
13ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her
14family and friends, mourn the passing of Nancy J. Anderson; and
15be it further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to the family of Nancy Anderson as an expression of
18our sympathy.
