| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Dean Schwartzkopf of rural Milan, who |
| 4 | | passed away on July 27, 2015; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Dean Schwartzkopf was born on July 26, 1938 in |
| 6 | | Alexis; his parents were Earl Wesley and Edna Beatrice House |
| 7 | | Schwartzkopf; in 1962, he married Linda Tornes in Coal Valley; |
| 8 | | they divorced in 1982 but remained close friends over the |
| 9 | | years; and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, After graduating from Roseville High School in |
| 11 | | 1957, Dean Schwartzkopf served his country in the United States |
| 12 | | Army until 1959; and
|
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Dean Schwartzkopf worked at Alcoa in Bettendorf |
| 14 | | for over 33 years until his retirement in 2000; and
|
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Dean Schwartzkopf was knowledgeable in |
| 16 | | agricultural history and could talk for hours about tractors |
| 17 | | and farming; he had a love for antique tractors and was a |
| 18 | | member and President of the Edwards River Antique Tractor |
| 19 | | Association and Vice President of the newly formed Illinois |
| 20 | | Massey Collectors Association Chapter 8; he was also a member |
| 21 | | of the Maple City Antique Tractor Association, the Spoon River |

| 1 | | Antique Agricultural Association, and the Argyle Antique Gas |
| 2 | | Engine Association; and
|
| 3 | | WHEREAS, Dean Schwartzkopf enjoyed supporting Kevin Goben |
| 4 | | Racing at the local dirt track, attending Mallards hockey |
| 5 | | games, and NASCAR; he also loved attending family gatherings, |
| 6 | | visiting with people, and monthly get-togethers with his high |
| 7 | | school classmates; and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Dean Schwartzkopf was preceded in death by his |
| 9 | | parents; a brother, Willard Schwartzkopf; a daughter, Dana |
| 10 | | Schwartzkopf; and a special great-niece, Renae Stevens; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Dean Schwartzkopf is survived by 2 sons, Jay and |
| 12 | | Paul Schwartzkopf; a grandson, Aaron Motsinger; 2 |
| 13 | | great-grandchildren; a brother, Dale Schwartzkopf; 2 sisters, |
| 14 | | Betty Stevens and Marty Thurman; his ex-wife, Linda Barton; and |
| 15 | | many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
|
| 16 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL |
| 17 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his |
| 18 | | family and friends, mourn the passing of Dean Schwartzkopf; and |
| 19 | | be it further
|
| 20 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 21 | | presented to the family of Dean Schwartzkopf as an expression |
