SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of  Lawrence "Larry" Cortesi, who passed away 
4on July 5, 2015; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Lawrence Cortesi was born in Italy and raised in 
6Highland Park; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, After his graduation from Highland Park High 
8School, Lawrence Cortesi worked for Menoni & Mocogni until his 
9initial retirement; he later returned to work in the family 
10business, Sunset Foods, where he worked until 2001 when he 
11moved to New Mexico with his family; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Lawrence Cortesi was well known as an uplifting 
13and kind man who will be loved and missed by all he knew; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Lawrence Cortesi is survived by his wife, Lorinda 
15D. Cortesi; a son, Lawrence "Larry" Cortesi; a granddaughter, 
16Alexandria Rose Cortesi; his mother, Ruth Cortesi; his 
17mother-in-law, Edna Dallas; 2 brothers, Leonardo Chirulli and 
18Cosimo (Maria) Cortesi; 2 sisters, Peggy (Ron) Cizzon and 
19Angela Rosati; a brother-in-law, Harold (Nettie) Mckissick; a 
20sister-in-law, Regina Johnson; and many nieces, nephews, and 
21friends; and

1    WHEREAS, Lawrence Cortesi was preceded in death by his 
2father, William Cortesi, Sr., and his uncles and aunts, Otto 
3Cortesi, John Cortesi, Hugo Cortesi, Madeline Bernardi, and Ida 
4Benvenuti; therefore, be it
  
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL 
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his 
7family and friends, mourn the passing of Lawrence "Larry" 
8Cortesi; and be it further
  
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
10presented to the family of Lawrence Cortesi as an expression of 
11our sympathy.
