SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Michael V. Fox of Crystal Lake, who passed away on July 28, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Michael Fox was born in Brooklyn, New York; his parents were Michael and Elizabeth (nee Rocks) Fox; he attended Fordham Preparatory School in New York before relocating to Chicago, where he met the love of his life, Rosemary (nee Ennis) Fox; and

WHEREAS, Michael Fox served his country as a member of the United States Navy for 10 years; and

WHEREAS, Michael Fox earned his Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from Loyola University in Chicago; he received his CPA designation shortly after graduation and rose through the ranks of public accounting, private industry, and corporate finance; among the titles and positions he held in his long career were Executive Vice President of Allied Van Lines, Vice President of Amprop Investments, CEO of BarVender, Inc., and Managing General Partner of Spectrum Capital, a venture capital firm; he later retired to Arizona before moving back to the Chicago area; and

WHEREAS, Michael Fox was an avid golfer, first as a member of Ridge Country Club in Chicago and later as a member of the Early Birds Group in Sun City West, Arizona; and

WHEREAS, Michael Fox was preceded in death by his loving wife, Rosemary; and

WHEREAS, Michael Fox is survived by 6 children, Michael (Nancy) Fox, Daniel (Dawn) Fox, Judy (Dale) Musick, Karen (Mike) Kupcheck, Diane (Gary) Greenfield, and Richard Fox; 14 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Michael V. Fox; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Michael Fox as an expression of our sympathy.
