SENATE RESOLUTION


  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of  Craig Stephen Whisenand of Tremont, who 
4passed away on August 11, 2015; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Craig Whisenand was born on May 24, 1971 in 
6Peoria; his parents were Vern and Phyllis Kenney Whisenand; he 
7married Steffany Ramsey on June 14, 2014 in Tremont; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Craig Whisenand graduated from Tremont High 
9School in 1989; he subsequently attended Illinois Central 
10College in East Peoria and completed his study at the 
11University of Illinois Police Training Institute in Champaign; 
12and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Craig Whisenand began his career as a corrections 
14officer at the Tazewell County Jail on April 14, 2000; on 
15February 10, 2005, he was appointed to serve as a deputy 
16sheriff with the Tazewell County Sheriff's Department; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, Craig Whisenand attended the Tremont United 
18Methodist Church; he enjoyed flowers, gardening, antiquing, 
19and the farm; he also loved all sports, especially encouraging 
20his sons to participate in hockey and baseball; and

1    WHEREAS, Craig Whisenand was preceded in death by his 
2grandparents; and
  
 
3    WHEREAS, Craig Whisenand is survived by his wife, Steffany; 
4his parents; 2 sons, Hunter Stephen and Carter Stephen 
5Whisenand; a daughter, Sophie Jean Frederick; a sister, Krista 
6(Steve) Muselman; 2 nephews, Joey and Justin Muselman; and his 
7father-in-law and mother-in-law, Steve and Peg Ramsey; 
8therefore, be it
  
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL 
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his 
11family and friends, mourn the passing of Craig Stephen 
12Whisenand; and be it further
  
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
14presented to the family of Craig Whisenand as an expression of 
15our sympathy.
