SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Raymond C. Poczkalski of Sunnyside, who
4passed away on August 9, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Raymond Poczkalski was born in Chicago on October
66, 1928 to Joseph and Helen (nee Piastowski) Poczkalski; he
7served in the United States Army during the Korean War and
8married Frances M. Fricano on September 26, 1953; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Raymond Poczkalski worked in Chicago in the
10silkscreening industry for over 30 years; he was then employed
11for 10 years as the head custodian for the James C. Bush
12Elementary School in Johnsburg, retiring in 1982; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Raymond Poczkalski was an avid golfer and
14fisherman and enjoyed spending time with his family at their
15second home in Portage, Wisconsin; he was a member of St. John
16the Baptist Catholic Church in Johnsburg; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Raymond Poczkalski was preceded in death by his
18parents; his wife, Frances; his son, Joseph Poczkalski; and 3
19sisters and a brother; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Raymond Poczkalski is survived by his children,

1Mary (Roger) Smith, Paul (the late Cynthia) Caruso, Pamela
2(Michael) LaFontaine, Raymond (Betsy) Poczkalski, and Stephen
3(Meredith) Poczkalski; his daughter-in-law, Sarah Poczkalski;
4his grandchildren, Joseph Smith, Alison (Dan) McGinty, Donald
5Glorch, Bryan (Julia) LaFontaine, Stephanie (Bryon) Pabian,
6and Daniel, Katie, Joseph, Rachael, Steven, and Julia
7Poczkalski; and his 6 great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Raymond C. Poczkalski, and extend our sincere condolences to
11his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
12further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Raymond Poczkalski as an expression
15of our deepest sympathy.
