SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Roger Leland Allison of Port Byron, who
4passed away on August 17, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Roger Allison was born on December 9, 1932 in
6Moline; his parents were Walter and Ellanora Ryan Allison; he
7married Shirley Ann Thompson on October 3, 1953 at Fairfield
8Church in Port Byron; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Roger Allison attended Wells School in East
10Moline, rural Port Byron schools, and Port Byron High School;
11and
 
12    WHEREAS, Roger Allison served as a military policeman at
13Fort Hood in Killeen, Texas from 1953 to 1955; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Roger Allison was a partner in the John Deere and
15Chevrolet dealership in Hillsdale; he also drove a petroleum
16fuel truck for FS until 1983, when he retired to his farm; he
17then farmed for another 10 years; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Roger Allison was preceded in death by his
19parents; a brother, James Allison; and 2 younger brothers who
20died at an early age; and

1    WHEREAS, Roger Allison is survived by his wife, Shirley;
2his children, Bradford (Laurie) Allison, Beth (Steve)
3Stratton, and Brian (Katie) Allison, grandchildren, Amanda
4(Jason) Floming, Bradford Joshua (Melissa) Allison, Kyle and
5Ryan Stratton, and Grace, Jacob, and Emily Allison; 5
6great-grandchildren; and a sister, Doris Smith; therefore, be
7it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
10family and friends, mourn the passing of Roger Leland Allison;
11and be it further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Roger Allison as an expression of
14our sympathy.
