SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Richard E. Votava of Woodstock, who
4passed away on August 15, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Richard Votava was born on July 31, 1926 in
6Chicago; his parents were Edward and Judith (Jurcek) Votava; he
7married Mabel Becker on January 15, 1949 in Wood Dale; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Richard Votava served his country as a member of
9the United States Navy during World War II; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Richard Votava worked as a plumber and was a
11member of the Chicago Journeymen Plumbers Union Local 130; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Richard Votava loved reading, studying history,
13and the outdoors; he enjoyed camping, hiking, and traveling
14with his wife, especially in the southwest desert region; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Richard Votava was preceded in death by his
16parents; 2 sons-in-law, Edward Sadoski and Mike Mangiardi; and
174 sisters, Eleanor, Lavern, Margaret, and June; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Richard Votava is survived by his loving wife of
1966 years, Mabel; 5 children, Margaret Sadoski, Janice

1Mangiardi, Donna (Peter) Francis, Deborah (Horst) Bauer, and
2Richard C. Votava; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren;
3and his many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
6family and friends, mourn the passing of Richard E. Votava; and
7be it further
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9presented to the family of Richard Votava as an expression of
10our sympathy.
