| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of John J. "Jack" Rogers of McHenry, who |
| 4 | | passed away on August 23, 2015; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Jack Rogers was born in Chicago to Gilbert A. and |
| 6 | | Rose (nee Sebek) Rogers; he served in the United States Marine |
| 7 | | Corps from 1951 to 1953; he married to Elaine Olson at the Post |
| 8 | | Chapel at Camp Pendleton in Oceanside, California on February |
| 9 | | 10, 1952; and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Jack Rogers was employed by the Chicago |
| 11 | | Northwestern Railway from 1947 until 1989, except when serving |
| 12 | | in the military; and
|
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Jack Rogers enjoyed golf, traveling, and |
| 14 | | following the Chicago White Sox; he was a member of St. |
| 15 | | Patrick's Church in McHenry and a member of the Knights of |
| 16 | | Columbus, McHenry Council 1288; and
|
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Jack Rogers was preceded in death by his parents; |
| 18 | | his wife, Elaine; and his brother, Gilbert Rogers; and
|
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Jack Rogers is survived by his 5 children, |
| 20 | | Rosemary Burd, Michael (Veronica) Rogers, Diane (James) Odom, |
