SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Henry J. "Hank" Bogdala, Sr. of Waukegan,
4who passed away on July 31, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Henry Bogdala, Sr. was born in Evergreen Park on
6December 23, 1931 to Frank and Emma (nee Peslak) Bogdala; he
7served in United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict;
8and
 
9    WHEREAS, Henry Bogdala, Sr. retired as a sales person from
10Nationwide Technologies, Inc. in Lake Forest in April of 1997;
11he was employed for many years as outside sales supervisor of
12the classified department for the Lake County News-Sun; he was
13awarded the best building idea award from the Mississippi Daily
14Newspaper Association; he was a former police officer for the
15Illinois Secretary of State Police Department and a member of
16the Illinois Police Association; he was also a former
17investigator for the Illinois Department of Revenue; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Henry Bogdala, Sr. was a member of the Waukegan
19Historical Society, a Waukegan Sunrise volunteer, Past
20Chairman of the Waukegan Environmental Committee, and a member
21of the Waukegan Downtown Association; he worked with many civic
22and charitable organizations through the years such as the Lake

1County Retarded Childrens Society and Fr. Cull and the Friends
2of the Hungry; he was an active member of St. Anastasia
3Catholic Church, serving on the Pastoral Council and as reader,
4lector, and Eucharistic Minister; he also served as Minister of
5Care for the Sick at Victory Memorial (Vista East) Hospital and
6with the Holy Name Society; he was also a former choir member;
7he was a member of the Lake County Sheriffs Merit Commission
8and retired board Chairman of the Waukegan Port District and
9Airport; he was also a member of Knights of Columbus Council
10#731 (4th Degree) in Waukegan, Homer Dahringer Post #281
11American Legion of Waukegan, a member of AARP (National and
12Local), and Past President of Sons of the American Legion
13Waukegan Chapter #150; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Henry Bogdala, Sr. was preceded in death by his
15daughter, Cynthia Bogdala-Lyle; his parents; his brothers,
16Roger and Frank, Jr. Bogdala; and his sister, Dolores Eveline
17Bogdala; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Henry Bogdala, Sr. is survived by his wife of 62
19years, Beverly J. (nee Dyke) Bogdala; his children, Henry, Jr.
20(Linda) Bogdala, Kevin (Ruby) Bogdala, Julia (Jerome) Shields,
21and Jeffrey, Sr. (Deborah) Bogdala; his 9 grandchildren; his 10
22great-grandchildren; his brother, Richard (Jeannie) Bogdala;
23his sisters, Shirley Lopez and Sandra Drennan; and a host of
24nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
3Henry J. "Hank" Bogdala, Sr., and extend our sincere
4condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
5him; and be it further
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
7presented to the family of Henry Bogdala, Sr. as an expression
8of our deepest sympathy.
