SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of  Laura Pearl Warnick of Elwin, who passed 
4away on June 17, 2015; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Laura Warnick was born on July 29, 1927 in 
6Moweaqua; her parents were Roy and Rosa (nee Larosa) Portwood; 
7she married James Warnick on May 17, 1958; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Laura Warnick served as the Town Clerk of South 
9Wheatland Township for over 30 years; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Laura Warnick was a member of the Elwin United 
11Methodist Church and had played the piano at the church for 
12over 50 years; she was also an active leader and pianist at the 
13Bible Study Fellowship for 15 years; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Laura Warnick was preceded in death by her 
15parents; a daughter, Kathy; and a brother, Earl; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Laura Warnick is survived by her husband, Jim; a 
17daughter, Julie McClarey; a grandson, Ryan McClarey; 2 
18granddaughters, Brittany (Matt) Buetow and Jennifer McClarey; 
19and a great-grandson, Matthew Buetow; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL 
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her 
3family and friends, mourn the passing of Laura Pearl Warnick; 
4and be it further
  
 
5    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
6presented to the family of Laura Warnick as an expression of 
7our sympathy.
