| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Bruce D. Pitchford of Girard, who passed |
| 4 | | away on August 30, 2015; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Bruce Pitchford was born on February 23, 1954 in |
| 6 | | Springfield; his parents were Herschel and Leda June Swaringen |
| 7 | | Pitchford; and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Bruce Pitchford served his country as a member of |
| 9 | | the United States Army from 1973 to 1976, being stationed in |
| 10 | | Japan; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Bruce Pitchford served as an Alderman in Girard |
| 12 | | for 12 years; he subsequently served as Mayor of Girard for 8 |
| 13 | | years; he also served as a tax assessor with Macoupin County |
| 14 | | since 2008; and
|
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Bruce Pitchford is survived by a son, Joseph H. |
| 16 | | Pitchford; a brother, Jim (Gloria) Pitchford; and several |
| 17 | | nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
|
| 18 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL |
| 19 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his |
| 20 | | family and friends, mourn the passing of Bruce D. Pitchford; |
