SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Jeffrey Thomas "Doc" Lantz of Coal
4Valley, who passed away on September 6, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Jeffrey Lantz was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on
6April 1, 1947 to Theodore R. and Eileen (nee Pliette) Lantz; he
7graduated from West High School in Davenport, Iowa in 1965 and
8then attended St. Ambrose College; he served his county with
9the 1st BN 4th Marines as a corpsman in Vietnam; he was awarded
10the Vietnam Service Medal (Bronze Star), the Vietnam Campaign
11Medal, the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry, and the National
12Defense Service Medal; he married Wilma Jean Parks on June 6,
131981 in Davenport; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Jeffrey Lantz retired from the Rock Island Arsenal
15in 1987 after 25 years of service; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Jeffrey Lantz was a lifetime member of Vietnam
17Veterans of America #299, where he served as a member of the
18honor guard; he was a member of the Marine Corps League in
19Columbus, South Carolina; he enjoyed fishing and helping
20others; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Jeffrey Lantz was preceded in death by his father,

1Theodore; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Jeffrey Lantz is survived by his wife, Wilma Jean;
3his daughter, Debbie Heald; his granddaughters, Abigail Heald
4and Nicole Heald; his mother, Eileen Lantz; his sister, Ann
5Lange (Brad); his brother, Bruce Lantz (Lora); and his nephews,
6James and Andrew Lange; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9Jeffrey Thomas "Doc" Lantz, and extend our sincere condolences
10to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be
11it further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Jeffrey Lantz as an expression of
14our deepest sympathy.
