2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
3 | | learn of the death of Joseph H. "Joe" Stengele of Manitowish |
4 | | Waters, Wisconsin, formerly of Joliet, who passed away on |
5 | | September 7, 2015; and
|
6 | | WHEREAS, Joe Stengele graduated from Joliet Catholic High |
7 | | School and the University of Notre Dame; and
|
8 | | WHEREAS, Joe Stengele retired from Joliet Warehouse and |
9 | | Transfer in 1990; and
|
10 | | WHEREAS, Joe Stengele was an active member of the Kiwanis |
11 | | Club of Joliet, the Boys and Girls Club of Joliet, the Joliet |
12 | | Chamber of Commerce, and various other organizations; and |
13 | | WHEREAS, Joe Stengele was an avid golfer, fisherman, and |
14 | | hobbyist, making many toys for the grandkids and |
15 | | great-grandkids; he was an avid fan of the Chicago Bears and |
16 | | Chicago Cubs, once even trying out as a pitcher for the Cubs in |
17 | | the minor leagues; and
|
18 | | WHEREAS, Joe Stengele was preceded in death by his parents, |
19 | | Joseph and Gladys (nee Hauser), and his brother, John; and
|
|

1 | | WHEREAS, Joe Stengele is survived by his wife of 62 years, |
2 | | Doris Lea (nee Folkers); his 6 sons, Joseph and Judith (nee |
3 | | Batis), David and Barbara (nee Ramos), Robert and Patricia (nee |
4 | | Kuligoski), Thomas and Katherine (nee Petru), James and Jane |
5 | | (nee Wartenberg), and Lee and Amy (nee Nedjlik); his daughter, |
6 | | Susan (Tim) Dollaske; his 8 grandchildren, Robert (Sharri) |
7 | | Stengele, Eric Stengele, Jackie (Michael) Underwood, James |
8 | | Stengele, John Stengele, Andrew Stengele, Brett Stengele, and |
9 | | Sadie Stengele; his 4 great-grandchildren, Jay Stengele, |
10 | | Makayla and Brooke Stengele, and Genevieve Underwood; and |
11 | | several cousins; therefore, be it

12 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL |
13 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
14 | | Joseph H. "Joe" Stengele, and extend our sincere condolences to |
15 | | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it |
16 | | further

17 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
18 | | presented to the family of Joe Stengele as an expression of our |
19 | | deepest sympathy.
