SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Joseph H. "Joe" Stengele of Manitowish
4Waters, Wisconsin, formerly of Joliet, who passed away on
5September 7, 2015; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Joe Stengele graduated from Joliet Catholic High
7School and the University of Notre Dame; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Joe Stengele retired from Joliet Warehouse and
9Transfer in 1990; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Joe Stengele was an active member of the Kiwanis
11Club of Joliet, the Boys and Girls Club of Joliet, the Joliet
12Chamber of Commerce, and various other organizations; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Joe Stengele was an avid golfer, fisherman, and
14hobbyist, making many toys for the grandkids and
15great-grandkids; he was an avid fan of the Chicago Bears and
16Chicago Cubs, once even trying out as a pitcher for the Cubs in
17the minor leagues; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Joe Stengele was preceded in death by his parents,
19Joseph and Gladys (nee Hauser), and his brother, John; and

1    WHEREAS, Joe Stengele is survived by his wife of 62 years,
2Doris Lea (nee Folkers); his 6 sons, Joseph and Judith (nee
3Batis), David and Barbara (nee Ramos), Robert and Patricia (nee
4Kuligoski), Thomas and Katherine (nee Petru), James and Jane
5(nee Wartenberg), and Lee and Amy (nee Nedjlik); his daughter,
6Susan (Tim) Dollaske; his 8 grandchildren, Robert (Sharri)
7Stengele, Eric Stengele, Jackie (Michael) Underwood, James
8Stengele, John Stengele, Andrew Stengele, Brett Stengele, and
9Sadie Stengele; his 4 great-grandchildren, Jay Stengele,
10Makayla and Brooke Stengele, and Genevieve Underwood; and
11several cousins; therefore, be it
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
13ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
14Joseph H. "Joe" Stengele, and extend our sincere condolences to
15his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
16further
 
17    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
18presented to the family of Joe Stengele as an expression of our
19deepest sympathy.
