SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Charles C. Cage, Jr. of Fort Wayne,
4Indiana, who passed away on September 17, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Charles Cage, Jr. was born on November 6, 1922 in
6Waldenburg, Arkansas; his parents were Charles C. and Edith H.
7(nee Millahn) Cage; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Charles Cage, Jr. proudly served his country in
9the United States Army during World War II in the 101st and
1082nd Airborne Divisions in Europe and as a meteorologist in the
11Army Air Corps; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Charles Cage, Jr. earned his master's degree in
13meteorology from the California Institute of Technology; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Charles Cage, Jr. was a member of St. Paul's
15Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne, Indiana; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Charles Cage, Jr. was preceded in death by his
17parents; his sister; Ila Mae Glenn; and his brothers, Lamar and
18William Cage; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Charles Cage, Jr. is survived by his loving wife,

1Charlotte C. (nee Voss) Cage; his children, Col. Steven
2(Sandra) Cage, Susan (David) Burgess, Timothy Cage, and Rev.
3Peter (Patricia) Cage; his grandchildren, Kristen (Charles)
4Murphy, Daniel, Erin, and Lauren Burgess, and Emily, Elizabeth,
5Michelle, Connor, and Cameron Cage; his great-grandson, Lyle
6Burgess; and his sister-in-law, Jean Voss; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
9family and friends, mourn the passing of Charles C. Cage, Jr.;
10and be it further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Charles Cage, Jr. as an expression
13of our sympathy.
