SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Richard Lundgren of Woodstock, who passed
4away on September 15, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Richard Lundgren was born in Chicago on July 10,
61941 to Carl and Dorothy (nee Knock) Lundgren; he married Paula
7Wuerfel in Northlake on April 30, 1978; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Richard Lundgren retired from the Cook County
9Sheriff's Office in 1994 after 30 years of service; he achieved
10the rank of Detective and served on many occasions as bodyguard
11for Mayor Richard M. Daley, Sheriff Richard Elrod, and Sheriff
12James O'Grady; he also worked as a truck driver for Dean Foods
13and as a plow driver for McHenry County through the Illinois
14Department of Transportation; he spent time working as a
15receptionist at Hearthstone Village in Woodstock; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Richard Lundgren was preceded in death by his
17parents; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Richard Lundgren is survived by his wife of 37
19years, Paula Lundgren; his 5 children, Michelle (Al) Reuter,
20Cary (John) Crawford, Heather (Chris Hemp) Bennett, Heidi
21(Scot) Gibson, and Rich (Kristie) Lundgren; his 7

1grandchildren, Carlie Reuter, Caysie Reuter, Connor Naskrent,
2Maxwell Lundgren, Tyler Gibson, Zachary Gibson, and Dexter
3Lundgren; and his best friend and longtime partner on the
4force, Donald Shaw; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7Richard Lundgren, and extend our sincere condolences to his
8family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
9further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Richard Lundgren as an expression of
12our deepest sympathy.
