SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of  Francis C. "Olie" Carlson of Peoria, who 
4passed away on September 28, 2015; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Francis Carlson was born on July 6, 1918 in 
6Joliet; his parents were Joseph and Mary Dolan Carlson; he 
7married Frances Doolan on June 4, 1949; she preceded him in 
8death on July 16, 1987; he married Faye Lightbody in 1988; she 
9preceded him in death in 1993; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Francis Carlson honorably served in the United 
11States Navy during World War II; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Francis Carlson worked for the United States Post 
13Office as a postal clerk for many years until his retirement; 
14and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, Francis Carlson was preceded in death by his first 
16wife, Frances; his second wife, Faye; his parents; his son, 
17Joseph Carlson; his 2 brothers; and his sister; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, Francis Carlson is survived by his son, John F. 
19Carlson; his granddaughter; his 3 grandsons; his 
20great-granddaughter; and his many nieces and nephews;

1therefore, be it
  
 
2    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL 
3ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his 
4family and friends, mourn the passing of Francis C. "Olie" 
5Carlson; and be it further
  
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7presented to the family of Francis Carlson as an expression of 
8our sympathy.
