SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of George Gulas, who passed away on
4September 17, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, George Gulas served as a medic with the United
6States Armed Forces during World War II; and
 
7    WHEREAS, George Gulas was employed at the Joliet Rivals
8Club and the Elgin, Joliet, and Eastern Railway before retiring
9from Alumax Aluminum after many years of service; and
 
10    WHEREAS, George Gulas was a lifelong member of Annunciation
11Byzantine Catholic Church (formerly St. Mary Assumption in
12Joliet), where he served as an usher for many years; and
 
13    WHEREAS, George Gulas enjoyed gardening, mushroom picking,
14word searches, and vacationing and fishing in Wisconsin with
15his family and friends; and
 
16    WHEREAS, George Gulas was preceded in death by his wife,
17Isabelle (nee Musich); his parents, Mary (nee Urbanec) and
18Gabriel Gulas; his sisters, Mary (Thomas) Legan, Ann (George)
19Peceniak, and Margie (Burnett) Reimers; and several siblings;
20and

1    WHEREAS, George Gulas is survived by his sons, George
2(Kim), Jim (Sue), and Bill; his daughter, Maria; his
3grandchildren, Stephanie (fiance, Adam Lewickas), Katie,
4Jenny, and Nick; his sister, Irene (the late John) Nickelson;
5his brother-in-law, Burnett Reimers; his sister-in-law, Mary
6(the late Leonard) Musich; and his many nieces, nephews, and
7cousins; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
10family and friends, mourn the passing of George Gulas; and be
11it further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of George Gulas as an expression of our
14sympathy.
