SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Raymond E. "Ray" Williams of East Moline,
4who passed away on September 28, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Ray Williams was born in rural Geneseo on
6September 9, 1926 to Julius and Selma (nee Claeys) Williams; he
7married Joan M. Merkel on June 6, 1953 in Grayslake; he served
8in the United States Army; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Ray Williams retired as Vice-President and
10cashier from Pinnacle Bank in Silvis on December 31, 1989; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Ray Williams enjoyed his daily trips to the YMCA
12and tennis; he was very good with numbers and found pleasure in
13helping the elderly and others do their income taxes; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Ray Williams was preceded in death by his parents;
15his sons, Daniel and Joseph R.; and his sister, Marjorie
16Fowler; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Ray Williams is survived by his wife of 62 years,
18Joan; his daughters, Mary Jo (Paul) Farron and Julie Palmer;
19his son, Alan (Allene) Williams; his 9 grandchildren; his 5
20great-grandchildren; his 2 step-great-grandchildren; his

1sisters, Dorothy Maes and Ruth Ann Fleming; and his brother,
2Julius (Jean) Williams; therefore, be it
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
5Raymond E. "Ray" Williams, and extend our sincere condolences
6to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be
7it further
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9presented to the family of Ray Williams as an expression of our
10deepest sympathy.
