SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Donald A. McGill of Moline, who passed 
4away on October 2, 2015; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Donald McGill was born in Knox County on September 
616, 1925 to Grant and Mary (nee Peel) McGill; he served during 
7World War II in the United States Army Air Corps; he married 
8Jacqueline Dierickx on October 13, 1951 at First United 
9Methodist Church in Rock Island; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Donald McGill was employed at John Deere Plow 
11Planter and John Deere Industrial for 21 years, retiring in 
121984 as Senior Methods Engineer; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Donald McGill enjoyed spending time with his 
14family, gardening, fishing, and nature; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, Donald McGill was preceded in death by his parents 
16and his brothers, Grant McGill, Jr. and Allen Keith McGill; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, Donald McGill is survived by  his wife, Jacqueline; 
18his daughter, Cathy McGill; his son, Ronald (Amy) McGill; his 
19grandchildren, Alexander McGill and Abby (Jeff) Less; and his 
20first great-grandchild due in November; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL 
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
3Donald A. McGill, and extend our sincere condolences to his 
4family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
5further
  
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7presented to  the family of  Donald McGill as an expression of 
8our deepest sympathy.
