| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Ervin "Bud" Bridges of Springfield, who |
| 4 | | passed away on October 3, 2015; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Ervin Bridges was born on March 30, 1925 in |
| 6 | | Eskridge, Kansas; his parents were William Earl and Pansy Belle |
| 7 | | Ensminger Bridges; he married Ida Mae Wilber on October 25, |
| 8 | | 1942 in St. Louis, Missouri; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Ervin Bridges attended Waverly High School and |
| 10 | | earned his associate's degree from Springfield Junior College; |
| 11 | | and
|
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Ervin Bridges was employed at Pillsbury for 19 |
| 13 | | years; he also owned and operated 6 service stations from 1958 |
| 14 | | to 1995; and
|
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Ervin Bridges was an active member of the Shriners |
| 16 | | and the Polka Lovers Klub of America; he enjoyed bowling, |
| 17 | | Pinochle, dancing the polka, and square dancing; and
|
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Ervin Bridges was preceded in death by his |
| 19 | | parents; his son, John Michael Bridges; his sisters, Rose |
| 20 | | Loveless and Laura Belle Bridges; and his brother, William |
