SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Judith K. "Judy" Fues of Woodstock, who
4passed away on September 19, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Judy Fues was born in Chicago on August 4, 1940 to
6Philip and Lois (DeRosier) Kirchberg; her family moved to
7Lakewood and she attended St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic
8School and Crystal Lake High School; she married Barry Fues in
91962 and they moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Judy Fues and her husband moved back to Illinois
11in 1964 and spent the next 14 years in Barrington before
12returning to Crystal Lake in 1978 with their 3 children; she
13spent time each year in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan; her
14children and grandchildren have continued that tradition
15today, spending their summers at the same northern woods,
16beaches, and Lake Michigan water where she did for 75 years;
17and
 
18    WHEREAS, Judy Fues attended, volunteered for, and was
19present at each and every sporting event, school function, and
20extracurricular activity of her grandchildren; she would throw
21a baseball, hit a tennis ball, ride on an inner tube, or allow
22herself to be pushed off a pier into the water - all in her love

1and devotion to her grandchildren; her other loves were
2gardening and the Catholic Church; she attended the weekly
3school mass of her granddaughters in the Western suburbs or the
4daily mass in her own St. Thomas the Apostle parish; she
5enjoyed weeding her garden and her flowers; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Judy Fues was preceded in death by her parents;
7and
 
8    WHEREAS, Judy Fues is survived by her husband of 53 years,
9Barry; her children, Amy Odom, Barry (Carri) Fues, and Jason
10(Maria) Fues; her grandchildren, Joseph, Kathleen, Maribella,
11and Gabriela; and her brother, Philip (Gail) Kirchberg;
12therefore, be it
 
13    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
14ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
15Judith K. "Judy" Fues, and extend our sincere condolences to
16her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
17further
 
18    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
19presented to the family of Judy Fues as an expression of our
20deepest sympathy.
