SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of  Stephen Wood of Woodstock, who passed 
4away on September 22, 2015; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Stephen Wood was born on May 14, 1942 in 
6Woodstock; his parents were Albert Wood and Alice Bentsen; he 
7married Patricia S. Engle on June 9, 1967; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Stephen Wood attended Elgin Community College and 
9Southern Illinois University, where he studied civil 
10engineering and was a member of the Theta Xi Fraternity; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Stephen Wood was a member of the United States 
12Naval Air Reserves and served in active duty in the United 
13States Navy for 2 years aboard the USS Forrestal; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Stephen Wood was an area carpenter for 35 years; 
15and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Stephen Wood was an avid fan of NASCAR, the 
17Chicago Cubs, and the Chicago Bears; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, Stephen Wood is survived by his mother, Alice 
19Erber; his loving wife of 48 years, Pat Wood; his daughter,

1Jennifer (John, Sr.) Amaya; his son, Michael (Jennifer) Wood; 
2his grandchildren, John, Jr. and Joshua Amaya and Paiton and 
3Ethan Wood; and his step-brother, Bruce Erber; therefore, be it
  
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL 
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his 
6family and friends, mourn the passing of Stephen Wood; and be 
7it further
  
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9presented to the family of Stephen Wood as an expression of our 
10sympathy.
