SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Sheldon "Shel" Ray Grant of Peoria, who 
4passed away on October 14, 2015; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Sheldon Grant was born on March 14, 1958 in 
6Peoria; his parents were Odies and Jannie (nee Lawrence) Grant; 
7and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Sheldon Grant retired as a code enforcement 
9inspector with the City of Peoria in 2011 after 23 years of 
10service; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Sheldon Grant was a member of Heaven's View 
12Christian Fellowship Church, where he served as a deacon and 
13choir member; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Sheldon Grant was preceded in death by his mother 
15and his nephew, Ocasio Grant; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Sheldon Grant is survived by his father; his 
17brothers, Don L., Vernon, and Kevin; and his sisters, Debra 
18(Thomas) Grant-Wilson, Gail Grant, Gay (Michael) 
19Grant-McLennan, Cindy Grant, and Eugenia Grant; therefore, be

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL 
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his 
3family and friends, mourn the passing of Sheldon "Shel" Ray 
4Grant; and be it further
  
 
5    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
6presented to the family of Sheldon Grant as an expression of 
7our sympathy.
