SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The Illinois Association of Free & Charitable 
3Clinics serves free and charitable clinics, to enhance their 
4ability to care for uninsured and underinsured populations in 
5Illinois; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, There are over 40 free and charitable clinics in 
7Illinois, providing health care to over 68,000 patients 
8annually; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Doctors, nurses, and other healthcare 
10professionals provide more than 150,000 hours of volunteer 
11medical care every year; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Illinois free and charitable clinics do not 
13receive federal funding; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Free and charitable clinics provide a safety net 
15for the health care system in Illinois; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Free and Charitable Clinics Week celebrates and 
17supports the accomplishments and contributions of free and 
18charitable clinics to their communities; therefore, be it
  
 
19    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL

1ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we declare November 
216-20, 2015 as "Free & Charitable Clinics Week" in the State of 
3Illinois; and be it further
  
 
4    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
5presented to the Illinois Association of Free and Charitable 
6Clinics as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
