SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Kevin McRae of Bethalto, who passed away 
4on October 31, 2015; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Kevin McRae was born on July 31, 1953 to Dale and 
6Lois McRae; he received his degree in accounting, with honors, 
7from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville; he married 
8Stacy Vig on November 20, 1982; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Kevin McRae worked for the Boeing Corporation for 
1038 years; since 1993, he served as Fort Russell Township 
11Supervisor; he previously served 2 terms on the Bethalto School 
12Board; he coached numerous youth baseball and basketball teams;  
13he and his wife also found time to run a bookkeeping and tax 
14business; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, Kevin McRae enjoyed spending summer days by the 
16pool with his family and tending to his tomato plants and 
17flowers; he also enjoyed golf and thinking up nicknames for 
18people and animals; he was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and 
19had an extensive personal library, including several books on 
20the Civil War; his faith was important to him, and his dogs, 
21Ellie and Cele, and his cat, Maggie, were his constant 
22companions; and

1    WHEREAS, Kevin McRae was preceded in death by his parents;  
2his infant sister, Lori McRae; his  nephews, Thomas Rice and 
3Jayson Ostrom; his niece, Danna McRae; his mother and 
4father-in-law, Desmond and Pauline Vig;  and his sister-in-law, 
5Dulcy Paquette; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Kevin McRae is survived by his wife, Stacy; his 
7children, Gordon McRae (Nicole), Jared McRae (Nicole), Katie 
8McRae, and Michael McRae (Samantha Arview); his grandchildren, 
9Jack, Miranda, and Sam; his 6 siblings, Steve McRae (Holly), 
10Dan McRae (Susan), Terri Downs, Tom McRae (Patti), Barb Bryant 
11(Steve), and Jeff McRae (Tina); his sister-in-law, Paula Ostrom 
12(Ron Moulds); his brother-in-law, Tom Paquette (Janice); his 
13wife's cousin, Nancy Reeder (Cliff); and numerous nieces, 
14nephews, and cousins; therefore, be it
  
 
15    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL 
16ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
17Kevin McRae, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, 
18friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
  
 
19    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
20presented to  the family of  Kevin McRae as an expression of our 
21deepest sympathy.
