SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Barbara J. Burgess, who passed away on
4October 19, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Barbara Burgess was born in Wood River on March
611, 1935 to Edward Oscar and Helen Charlotte (nee Hinthorne)
7Lindquist; she was formerly married to Charles G. Duckels; she
8later married Gillum "Jim" Burgess in Meadowbrook; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Barbara Burgess was a secretary with the State of
10Missouri; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Barbara Burgess was a member of Emmanuel Free
12Methodist Church in Alton and was in involved in the Quilters
13Circle at the church; she was a past member of the Eastern Star
14in Chesterfield and the Christian Women's Club of Alton; she
15loved spending time with her family and friends; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Barbara Burgess was preceded in death by her
17husband, Jim; her parents; her aunt, Helen Lindquist; and her
18nephew, Rob Pritzker; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Barbara Burgess is survived by her 2 sons and
20their spouses, Dan and Gail Duckels and Dean and Julia Duckels;

1her grandchildren and their spouses, Amanda Duckels, David
2Duckels, Whitney and Cory Brockmeyer, Lyndsay and Erik Casad,
3and Julie and Danny Loftis; her 5 great-grandchildren, Tyson,
4Tyra, Dalton, Cassie, and Easton; her 2 sisters and a
5brother-in-law, Donna Pritzker and Sherri and Larry Rose; her
6aunt, Catherine Pomeroy; and her nieces and nephews; therefore,
7be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Barbara J. Burgess, and extend our sincere condolences to her
11family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
12further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Barbara Burgess as an expression of
15our deepest sympathy.
