SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Rev. Bennett McNeal of Elburn, who passed 
4away on September 27, 2015; and
  
 
  
5    WHEREAS, Rev. McNeal previously worked as a hospital 
6administrator; he later received his master's degree in adult 
7education from National Louis University and a master's degree 
8in divinity from Chicago Theological Seminary; he taught 
9English as a second language, citizenship, and family literacy 
10classes at the College of DuPage, Harper College, and Morton 
11College; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Rev. McNeal entered the seminary at the age of 51; 
13he spent the last 3 years of his life as the Pastor of the 
14Elburn Community Congregational United Church of Christ; and
  
 
  
15    WHEREAS, Rev. McNeal is survived by his wife, Andrea; 
16therefore, be it
  
 
17    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL 
18ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
19Rev. Bennett McNeal, and extend our sincere condolences to his 
20family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
