SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Jerrold B. "Jerry" Smith of Fox Lake, who 
4passed away on October 15, 2015; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Jerry Smith was born in Oak Park on December 28, 
61953; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, Jerry Smith was a "picker" and enjoyed selling his 
8wares on Ebay and at flea markets; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Jerry Smith was affectionately called Smitty, 
10Smilty, Dedo, and Geronimo; he was a great conversationalist 
11and  enjoyed gathering each morning with friends at Dunkin 
12Donuts; he loved "jamming" with "the band", playing his guitar 
13both at home and around town; he was a member of St. Bede 
14Catholic Church; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, Jerry Smith was preceded in death by his mother, 
16Margaret Elliot, and his father, Homer Smith; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, Jerry Smith is survived by his wife, Gail (nee 
18Thielsen); his children, Heather Ward (stepdaughter), Wesley 
19Smith, Angela Smith, and Doniell Smith; his grandchildren, 
20Abby, Alex, and Isabella; his stepfather, Robert Elliot; his

1brothers, Bill (Pat) Smith and Jim (Donna) Smith; and his 
2sisters, Lynn (Jerry) Bivens, Terry (Rick) Daniels, and Bonnie 
3Woltman; therefore, be it
  
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL 
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
6Jerrold B. "Jerry" Smith, and extend our sincere condolences to 
7his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
8further
  
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
10presented to  the family of  Jerry Smith as an expression of our 
11deepest sympathy.
