|
| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Judith Josephine "Judy" Huemann, who |
| 4 | | passed away on October 30, 2015; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Judy Huemann was born in Chicago on March 19, |
| 6 | | 1938; she spent much of her life residing in the McHenry County |
| 7 | | area before moving to her home in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin; and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Judy Huemann graduated from nursing school and |
| 9 | | became a registered nurse in May of 1982; she put her skills to |
| 10 | | use as an emergency room and trauma nurse specialist at |
| 11 | | Northern Illinois Medical Center, as a flight nurse for Flight |
| 12 | | for Life, as a death investigator for the McHenry County |
| 13 | | Coroner, as a charge nurse at Mercy Walworth Medical Center in |
| 14 | | Williams Bay, Wisconsin, and as an instructor for the Gateway |
| 15 | | Technical College CNA program; in her later years, and until |
| 16 | | her retirement, she became an integral part of her son's |
| 17 | | business, T. Huemann Well & Pump, Inc.; and
|
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Judy Huemann had a passion for helping people and |
| 19 | | put her nursing skills to use on mission trips to Honduras and |
| 20 | | to New Orleans in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina and, more |
| 21 | | recently, as a regular volunteer nurse at Open Arms Clinic, a |
| 22 | | free medical clinic located in Elkhorn, Wisconsin; she loved |
|

| 1 | | the diversity of the world and engaged in a full life of travel |
| 2 | | with her children, which allowed her to see many states within |
| 3 | | the U.S., as well as countries like France, Russia, Germany, |
| 4 | | and, of course, her beloved Italy; she loved reading and |
| 5 | | participated in many book clubs and Bible studies; she was a |
| 6 | | woman of strong faith and loved her church, Immanuel Lutheran; |
| 7 | | and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Judy Huemann was preceded in death by her father, |
| 9 | | Anthony V. DeCicco; her brother, Tony DeCicco; and her |
| 10 | | grandparents, Benjamin and Emily DeCicco; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Judy Huemann is survived by her 5 children (and |
| 12 | | their spouses), Billy Huemann, Tony (Brenda) Huemann, Jay |
| 13 | | (Susan) Huemann, Todd (Erin) Huemann, and Emily (Chuck) Brody; |
| 14 | | her brother, Benjamin (Alyson) DeCicco; her 9 grandchildren, |
| 15 | | Brooke, Nicholas, Anthony J, Laura, Marcus, Anna, Emily, |
| 16 | | Elliot, and Morgan Huemann; and many cousins; therefore, be it
|
| 17 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL |
| 18 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
| 19 | | Judith Josephine "Judy" Huemann, and extend our sincere |
| 20 | | condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved |
| 21 | | her; and be it further
