SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Judith Josephine "Judy" Huemann, who
4passed away on October 30, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Judy Huemann was born in Chicago on March 19,
61938; she spent much of her life residing in the McHenry County
7area before moving to her home in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Judy Huemann graduated from nursing school and
9became a registered nurse in May of 1982; she put her skills to
10use as an emergency room and trauma nurse specialist at
11Northern Illinois Medical Center, as a flight nurse for Flight
12for Life, as a death investigator for the McHenry County
13Coroner, as a charge nurse at Mercy Walworth Medical Center in
14Williams Bay, Wisconsin, and as an instructor for the Gateway
15Technical College CNA program; in her later years, and until
16her retirement, she became an integral part of her son's
17business, T. Huemann Well & Pump, Inc.; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Judy Huemann had a passion for helping people and
19put her nursing skills to use on mission trips to Honduras and
20to New Orleans in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina and, more
21recently, as a regular volunteer nurse at Open Arms Clinic, a
22free medical clinic located in Elkhorn, Wisconsin; she loved

1the diversity of the world and engaged in a full life of travel
2with her children, which allowed her to see many states within
3the U.S., as well as countries like France, Russia, Germany,
4and, of course, her beloved Italy; she loved reading and
5participated in many book clubs and Bible studies; she was a
6woman of strong faith and loved her church, Immanuel Lutheran;
7and
 
8    WHEREAS, Judy Huemann was preceded in death by her father,
9Anthony V. DeCicco; her brother, Tony DeCicco; and her
10grandparents, Benjamin and Emily DeCicco; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Judy Huemann is survived by her 5 children (and
12their spouses), Billy Huemann, Tony (Brenda) Huemann, Jay
13(Susan) Huemann, Todd (Erin) Huemann, and Emily (Chuck) Brody;
14her brother, Benjamin (Alyson) DeCicco; her 9 grandchildren,
15Brooke, Nicholas, Anthony J, Laura, Marcus, Anna, Emily,
16Elliot, and Morgan Huemann; and many cousins; therefore, be it
 
17    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
18ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
19Judith Josephine "Judy" Huemann, and extend our sincere
20condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved
21her; and be it further
 
22    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
