SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of John "Jack" May, who passed away on
4November 16, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, John May was born on November 13, 1933 in
6Waukegan; his parents were Edward May and Jane Ross May; and
 
7    WHEREAS, After high school, John May joined the United
8States Navy in 1956, and served as a medic; in 1957, he was
9transferred and stationed at the United States Naval Hospital
10in Chelsea, Massachusetts; and
 
11    WHEREAS, John May worked for most of his life at Manville;
12after retiring, he worked part time in the office at Warren
13High School, where he also worked with the basketball program
14as the team statistician; and
 
15    WHEREAS, John May enjoyed traveling to Hawaii, attending
16spring training games in Florida, going out to eat with his
17daughter and granddaughter, working out, and spending time with
18his family; and
 
19    WHEREAS, John May is survived by his daughter, Denise; his
20son-in-law, Nate; his granddaughter, Devyn; his

1step-daughters, Teresa and Vicky; his sisters, Pat, Theresa,
2and Jean; his brother, Ed; his many nieces and nephews; and his
3best friend, Mike; therefore, be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
6family and friends, mourn the passing of John "Jack" May; and
7be it further
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9presented to the family of John May as an expression of our
10sympathy.
