| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Alan W. Johnson of East Moline, who |
| 4 | | passed away on November 14, 2015; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Alan Johnson was born on January 12, 1924 in |
| 6 | | Moline; his parents were Albin W. and Laura E. Ohline Johnson; |
| 7 | | he married Natalie J. Welander on September 9, 1961 in Moline; |
| 8 | | and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Alan Johnson graduated from Moline High School in |
| 10 | | 1942; he served for 3 years in the United States Army Air Force |
| 11 | | during World War II, mostly in the Southwest Pacific theatre; |
| 12 | | after his discharge, he attended the former Moline Institute of |
| 13 | | Commerce and subsequently graduated from Walton School of |
| 14 | | Commerce in Chicago in 1950; and
|
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Alan Johnson was employed by the United States |
| 16 | | Steel Supply Division in Moline and Chicago for 10 years; he |
| 17 | | later worked at the former Franks Foundry Corporation in Moline |
| 18 | | and Davenport in a variety of accounting and administrative |
| 19 | | positions until his retirement in 1982; and
|
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Alan Johnson was a member of Calvary Lutheran |
| 21 | | Church and was a member of the Church Council and served as |
