SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of  John E. Burns, Sr. of Rock Island, who 
4passed away on November 26, 2015; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, John Burns, Sr. was born on May 16, 1956 in 
6Rockford; his parents were William and Mary Louise Melton 
7Burns, Sr.; he married Connie Cox on October 18, 1980 in East 
8Moline; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, John Burns, Sr. served his country as a member of 
10the United States Army; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, John Burns, Sr. was employed as a machinist at 
12Milan Surplus in Rock Island for many years; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, John Burns, Sr. was preceded in death by his 
14parents; his sisters, Patricia and Donna; and his brother, 
15William; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, John Burns, Sr. is survived by his daughters, 
17Jacqueline (Robert) Azbell, Jani (Jason) Willis, and Jennifer 
18(Tony) Guerrero; his son, John (Kristin) Burns, Jr.; his 
19grandchildren, Ethan Azbell and Britta Burns; his brother, 
20Charles "Chuck" Burns; and his fiancee, Regina DeSplinter;

1therefore, be it
  
 
2    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL 
3ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his 
4family and friends, mourn the passing of John E. Burns, Sr.; 
5and be it further
  
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7presented to the family of John Burns, Sr. as an expression of 
8our sympathy.
