SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Margaret Clare Leonard of Niantic, who
4passed away on November 23, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Margaret Leonard was born on April 7, 1939 in
6Decatur; her parents were Bernard and Margaret Walsh Donovan;
7she married Edward H. Leonard, Sr. on February 11, 1978; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Margaret Leonard was a graduate of Sacred Heart
9Academy in Springfield and St. Mary's Hospital School of
10Nursing in Kansas City, Missouri; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Margaret Leonard was employed as a registered
12nurse at St. Mary's Hospital in Decatur from 1962 to 1979; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Margaret Leonard was an active member of the Macon
14County Association for Home and Community Education, the GR
15Chapter of P.E.O., the Decatur branch of the American
16Association of University Women, and St. Mary's Hospital
17Auxiliary; she also served on the Hospital Sisters Health
18System St. Mary's Hospital Advisory Council, the Illinois Board
19of Environmental Health Practitioners, and the Macon County
20Board of Health and served as a Niantic Township Trustee since
211983; and

1    WHEREAS, Margaret Leonard was an avid world traveler,
2having visited over 45 countries; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Margaret Leonard was preceded in death by her
4parents and her sister, Annamary Feeney; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Margaret Leonard is survived by her husband,
6Edward, Sr.; her daughter, Anna M. Leonard (Matthew Rogina);
7her son, Edward H. (Katie) Leonard, Jr.; her sister, Alice
8(Robert) Boylan; and her brother, Bernard T. (Joyce) Donovan;
9therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her
12family and friends, mourn the passing of Margaret Clare
13Leonard; and be it further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Margaret Leonard as an expression of
16our sympathy.
